Week 8 Palestine Protest

Week 8 Palestine Protest

The temporary pause ended.

The genocide, war on children has resumed. Today, Saturday 02/12/23 was the 8th Saturday protest in a row in Cork City. On the 29th November, the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine, Cork City Hall lit up in the colours of the Palestinian flag, with the flag hoisted up alongside the Irish one. A vigil was held outside in the freezing cold among comrades who have been supporting Palestine for decades, and younger participants who have become aware perhaps more recently.

It's difficult not to feel hopeless. But if you are feeling like that, you're not alone. That's why there's such power in community, in solidarity. We will do everything we can do, we will do it together, worldwide. Will we get a ceasefire? I don't know. But we are forever changed. And that might just create a world without the conditions necessary for this to happen.... eventually.

To accept genocide, to accept 6,000+ children murdered in 8/9 weeks, is to lose your own humanity. We will not lose ours. To do so is damaging to your own soul, let alone those around you.
