The War on Palestine

This war didn't begin on October 7th did it? The week before that Hamas attack on Israel, I remember vividly coming across a story about how Israeli troops, the IDF, were shooting Palestinian protestors in the ankles from the border, and doctors reported that because of the blockade which prevents the free movement of goods (including medical) and people in Gaza, they were having to amputate people's legs due to these injuries. Although I have always, and especially as an Irish person, felt an affinity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, I have to admit to my shame, I didn't have the deep understanding I have now. Only since Israel declared war on Gaza and began to collectively punish civilians, including children and babies, en mass. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. Israels barbarity and ability to kill 12,000 people without empathy or remorse has shown their true hand. Rather than the slow torture and suffering since the first Nakba/catastrophe of 1948, this is intentional genocide on a populous made up of 50% children.

I saw a video yesterday on X, it was a newborn baby with shrapnel injuries caused by an Israeli bomb, her little mouth chattering uncontrollably. Her tiny fists opening and closing slowly while they attempted to treat her injuries in a hospital with no electricity, no water, no supplies. Newborn babies in incubators died as fuel ran out to run the generator after Israel cutting off electricity and fuel deliveries. Humanitarian aid can't get in without a ceasefire. It's been 41 days of constant bombing, no food, no water, no electricity. Homes bombed, refugee camps bombed, hospitals bombed, ambulances bombed. Doctors, nurses, journalists have all died in Gaza this past 41 days, alongside families, the elderly, the young, pregnant women, babies, small children, big children.

The state of Israel with Zionism as it's belief system, is happy to have an excuse to annihilate, or if you survive that, ethnically cleanse the entirety of Palestine from Palestinians. That is their military goal and ambition, and they will not stop until it's fulfilled. They plan to build cities on the dead bodies of children.
